🇸🇮 Good news from Slovenia. Slovenia's populist PM Jansa, famous for his controversial attitude towards freedom of the press, loses the election to the green-liberal Robert Golob.

🗳 Golob’s Freedom Movement (GS), which he launched only in January, has built on anger with Janša’s regime policies. GS obtained 34.5% of the vote compared with 23.6% for Janša’s Slovenian Democratic party.

🇪🇺 This news, which arrives a few hours after Macron's victory in France, is a good sign. Golb's government will have a better attitude towards the EU, and definitely a more responsible approach towards the climate emergency.

🚨 But make no mistake. There is no more time to waste. #ClimateAction in Europe needs to go together with #socialreforms aimed at decreasing #inequality. We hope that the liberals at the European level will be open to a dialogue with the #progressives following the example of Germany's #trafficlight coalition between green, progressives and liberals which will hopefully bring some #change.
